Job summary

BAE Systems seeks a Senior Structures Engineer to support world-wide fast jet development. Based at Warton, Samlesbury, Brough or Prestwick, you will apply structural analysis methods across metallic and composite designs, from hand calculations to FEA, ensuring certification requirements are met.

You will mentor junior engineers, define analysis tasks, and foster effective collaboration with suppliers and customers to deliver robust, efficient structures within project timelines.

Qualifications

• Experience in structural sizing and analysis across metallics and composites.
• Fatigue and damage tolerance analysis.
• Mentoring and developing junior engineers.

Responsibilities

• Define and carry out engineering analysis tasks allocated to you and your team members.
• Mentor and develop less experienced colleagues to build up the team’s knowledge and experience.
• Ensure effective interactions between team members, suppliers, customers and others to maintain efficiency.
• Carry out analysis using finite element analysis, hand calculations and various software applications to meet certification and project requirements.
