Job summary

Carrington West is seeking an experienced Structures Manager to lead the management, maintenance and strategic development of a diverse highway and open space structures portfolio. You will shape strategy for structures assets, supervise senior engineers and technicians, and oversee capital programmes with strong governance and safety commitments across the network.

Qualifications

Degree-qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering.
Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status (ICE or IStructE).
NVQ Level 4 management qualification or equivalent, with leadership experience.

Responsibilities

Lead, manage and develop a team of engineers and technicians with clear technical direction.
Provide multi-disciplinary advice on major projects involving structures and geotechnical assets.
Oversee inspection, maintenance and improvement programmes for highway and open space structures.
Manage assets and ensure compliance with national standards and health & safety legislation.
Develop, plan and deliver capital and revenue programmes with full budget ownership.
Manage contractors and external stakeholders on routine and complex projects.
Lead asset management and lifecycle planning for structures and geotechnical assets.
Act as Technical Approval Authority for structures-related approvals.
Represent the organisation at regional and national forums as required.
