Job summary

Network Rail is seeking an Asset Engineer in the structures team for the West Coast North area, based in Manchester or Birmingham. You will apply the structures asset management processes for condition, value and delivery of targets, and oversee inspection of bridges, walls and culverts, providing engineering expertise to the Asset Management team.

You will plan examinations, evaluate reports, and take action when decisions are delayed.

Qualifications

• HNC/HND or degree in civil/structural engineering required.
• Substantial experience in structures or civil engineering.
• Knowledge of structures engineering policies and standards.

Responsibilities

• Plan, oversee examination and monitoring of structural assets.
• Provide safety-critical engineering decisions as part of asset management.
• Prioritize defects, develop work plans, and oversee maintenance tasks.
• Support development of asset management strategies and standards.
