Fusion People is seeking a Principal Structures Engineer for roles based in Manchester, Preston or Warrington. You will lead bridge and structural asset programmes across a regional network and shape long-term asset strategies.

You will oversee surveys, assessments and technical reports, provide expert advice on renewal and maintenance, and collaborate with contractors and internal teams to deliver high-profile highway projects.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent).
• Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status, or working towards accreditation.
• Experience in highways structures, bridges or related assets.
• Knowledge of inspections, asset management and maintenance planning.
• Experience working with contractors, consultants and multidisciplinary project teams.
• Understanding of industry standards and asset management principles.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsabilités

• Lead management and development of bridge and structural asset programmes across a regional network.
• Develop and implement asset management plans delivering value for money.
• Commission and oversee structural surveys, inspections and assessments.
• Review and approve technical reports, drawings, specifications and documentation.
• Provide expert engineering advice to renewal, maintenance and improvement schemes.
• Monitor asset condition data and inform investment decisions.
• Prioritise structural defects and recommend maintenance strategies.
• Collaborate with contractors, consultants and internal stakeholders for project delivery.
• Contribute to development of best practice standards and continuous improvement.
