Job summary

PD&MS Energy (Aberdeen) Ltd. is seeking a Senior Structural Designer to join our team in Aberdeen or Glasgow on a full-time contract. The role supports flowline work and brownfield pipe support design, with 2 days per week remote.

You will work in 2D/3D AutoCAD/Plant 3D and utilise ReCAP point cloud data, ensuring designs meet project requirements and add value. The ideal candidate has energy industry experience, a HND, and is comfortable mentoring others.

Qualifications

• HND in a relevant subject is required.
• Experience in detail design across oil & gas projects is preferred.
• Competent in AutoDesk design tools (AutoCAD/Plant 3D) and point cloud data (ReCAP).

Responsibilities

• Create and check engineering designs.
• Ensure designs meet project requirements and budgets.
• Input to project plans and identify issues early.
• Produce cost-effective, safe engineering solutions.
• Address operational and maintenance considerations in design.

About The Role

PD&MS Group are now looking for a Senior Structural Designer to join our team in Aberdeen or Glasgow on a full-time, on-going contract basis. We offer a flexible hybrid working model where 2 days per week can be worked remotely.

This role will involve flowline work, we are seeking Designers with experience in brownfield pipe support design incorporating bolted connections for this role. Candidates must be able to work in a 2D and 3D AutoCAD/Plant 3D environment and able to utilise ReCAP point cloud data.

Key duties:

• Creates and checks engineering designs
• Responsible for ensuring designs meet project requirements
• Input to project plans
• Identify areas of concern during any project or study
• Produce cost- effective engineering solutions that are fit for purpose, safe and add value
• Ability to address operational and maintenance issues in the design and liaise with colleagues for the best solution
• Undertake surveys, both onshore and offshore (not essential)

About You

We'd like you to have a HND in a relevant subject and previous experience in detail design with an awareness of other disciplines. You need to be competent and have an interest in working with AutoDesk design products.
