The successful candidate will have extensive experience with Eurocodes/British Standards, post-graduate years in structural engineering, and a strong background in steel connections and large-span projects. Office-based in Doncaster.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of post-graduate structural engineering experience.
• Strong steelwork design experience for large open-span structures.
• Experience with Design & Build/contractor environments is essential.
• Chartered status or working towards chartered status advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Undertake structural design and detailed calculations for steel-framed structures.
• Design steel connections and related structural elements.
• Create designs for large open-span steel structures, canopies and buildings.
• Deliver designs from concept through manufacture and installation.
• Ensure compliance with Eurocodes and British Standards.
• Review drawings and technical information and provide guidance to the team.
• Attend client and project meetings and support bidding and pre-construction stages.

Senior Structural Engineer - Steelwork

Location: Doncaster

Senior Structural Engineer required to join a specialist Design & Build contractor based in Doncaster. The company specialises in the design, manufacture and installation of steel and clad canopies and buildings, delivering projects from initial concept and design through to manufacture, installation and completion. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Structural Engineer with a strong background in steel structures and Design & Build contracting.

Senior Structural Engineer Job Overview

• Undertake structural design and detailed calculations for steel-framed structures
• Design steel connections and associated structural elements
• Design large open-span steel structures, canopies and buildings
• Deliver structural designs from initial concept through to manufacture and installation
• Ensure designs comply with relevant Eurocodes and British Standards

Senior Structural Engineer Job Requirements

• Degree qualified in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or a related discipline
• Strong structural steelwork design experience
• Previous Design & Build / contractor experience essential
• Steel connection design experience essential
• Experience designing large open-span steel structures essential
• Minimum 5 years' relevant post-graduate structural engineering experience
• Good working knowledge of Eurocodes and/or British Standards
• Experience with structural design software such as Tekla Structural Designer and/or MasterSeries advantageous
• AutoCAD experience advantageous
• Chartered or working towards Chartered Engineer status advantageous
• Able to work full-time from the Doncaster office
