Aspion Search is proud to represent a steel construction company in their search for aSenior Structural Design Engineer to join their design team due to a continued pipeline of high profile, technically demanding projects.

Bradford-based role offering £50,000 - £60,000 (dependent on experience) with benefits and career progression in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Structural or Civil Engineering (Chartered status desirable).
• Minimum 8 years' UK-based structural steel design experience.
• Experience with a UK-based steelwork fabricator.
• Proficient in Tekla Structural Designer, MasterSeries, S-Frame, IDEA StatiCa.
• Knowledge of British and European design standards.
• Capable of manual and software-based calculations.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high quality structural designs for steel frameworks and connections.
• Conduct manual and software calculations to UK standards.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and clients.
• Maintain effective client relationships to support repeat business.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
• Attend design meetings and contribute to technical discussions.

The Role of the Senior Structural Design Engineer:

They are looking to strengthen their design team with a Senior Structural Design Engineer to take on high profile and complex structural projects.

Here's how:

• Deliver high quality structural designs for steel frameworks and complex connections
• Conduct manual and software-based calculations to British and Eurocode standards
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and clients throughout project lifecycles
• Maintain effective client relationships to support repeat business and referrals
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members
• Attend design meetings and contribute to technical discussions

Requirements of the Senior Structural Design Engineer:

• Degree qualified in Structural or Civil Engineering (ideally working toward Chartered status)
• Minimum 8 years' experience in UK based structural steel design
• Previous experience with a UK based steelwork fabricator
• Proven experience in steelwork frame and connection design
• Proficient in Tekla Structural Designer, Masterseries, S-Frame, IDEA StatiCa
• Knowledge of British and European design standards
• Confident producing both manual and software-based calculations
• Experience in temporary works design (desirable)
