Job summary

RGB Recruitment in Cardiff is seeking a Structural Engineer to join a design-led consultancy delivering creative building structure solutions across South Wales and the South West. You will manage project delivery, prepare calculations, and coordinate with clients in a proactive team.

This full-time, hybrid role offers progression within a supportive environment, a salary of £45,000–£55,000 per year plus package, and 25 days of annual leave.

Qualifications

• Degree in civil or structural engineering.
• Chartered status with ICE or IStructE or actively working toward it.
• Experience in building structures within a consultancy environment.
• Proficiency with Tekla, Autodesk, and other analysis tools.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate with stakeholders.
• Understanding of the design and construction process from concept to site delivery.

Responsibilities

• Undertaking detailed design and structural analysis across a variety of building types within the property sector.
• Leading projects and overseeing a design team.
• Providing guidance, mentoring, and technical direction to junior engineers and technicians.
• Regular communication with architects, contractors, and wider project stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery.
• Liaising directly with clients and responding swiftly to technical queries.
• Attending site visits and meetings, contributing to technical reports and design reviews.
• Taking on increasing responsibility toward higher-level management roles.
