Job summary

Jobs.co.uk is seeking a senior structural engineer in Exeter to lead projects across the South West. The role is full-time with hybrid working, owning schemes from feasibility to on-site completion and coordinating clients, design teams and contractors.

Applicants should be chartered or near-chartered with strong Eurocode and UK Building Regulations knowledge, plus experience in structural analysis tools and AutoCAD. A balance of technical design and leadership is expected.

Qualifications

Chartered or Incorporated status, or progress towards professional registration.
Experience with Eurocodes and UK Building Regulations.
Experience with structural analysis tools and drawing software such as AutoCAD.
Ability to lead project teams and manage deadlines.

Responsibilities

Lead structural schemes from concept design through detailed delivery and construction support.
Produce and review calculations, reports, specifications, drawings and tender information.
Coordinate engineers and technicians, set priorities and keep outputs on programme.
Collaborate with architects, contractors, clients and fellow consultants to resolve design issues.
Prepare scopes, fee proposals, resource plans and delivery programmes.
Monitor budgets and identify variations or additional services.
Visit sites, attend project meetings and respond to technical queries with confidence.
Check work before issue and maintain clear project records.
Coach less experienced team members and contribute to a positive technical culture.
