Job summary

BakerHicks in Scotland is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join our established Civil & Structural Engineering team. You will deliver structural solutions across diverse projects, taking ownership of delivery and developing client relationships while mentoring Engineers, Graduates and Technicians.

You will work towards Chartered status or already be Chartered, with support for professional development and ongoing technical excellence within a multidisciplinary consultancy.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent).
• Experience delivering structural engineering projects within a UK design consultancy.
• Strong structural design, technical detailing and specification writing experience.
• Good understanding of British Standards, Eurocodes and structural loading requirements.
• Working knowledge of CDM Regulations and current UK legislation.
• Proficient in structural analysis and design software.
• Experience working within BIM environments, including Autodesk Navisworks.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills with clients and project teams.
• Understanding of quality assurance processes and engineering best practice.
• Eligible to obtain UK Security Clearance.
• Chartered or Incorporated Engineer with ICE or IStructE, or working towards professional registration.
• Experience across multiple sectors and tender/bid submissions.
• Experience mentoring Engineers, Graduates or Technicians.
• Commercial awareness and understanding of project financials.
• Experience using MasterSeries, STAAD and/or Tedds.
• Existing Security Clearance.
• Full UK driving licence.
