Job summary

BakerHicks in Scotland is seeking a Principal Structural Engineer to lead delivery of complex structural and civil design across diverse sectors. You will own design delivery, mentor engineers, influence technical excellence and support growth of the Civil & Structural team in Scotland.

Working within multi-disciplinary teams, you’ll engage with clients, manage programmes, prepare tenders and help win work while keeping safety, sustainability and commercial performance at the forefront.

Qualifications

• Chartered Civil or Structural Engineer with chartered status and UK-recognised professional body.
• Significant post-chartership consultancy experience leading projects and teams.
• Strong knowledge of civil/structural design codes and safety standards.
• Experience delivering multi-sector projects and bid activity.

Responsibilities

• Lead structural and civil design delivery on complex projects across sectors.
• Manage programmes, budgets, resources and change control.
• Act as technical authority on design and conduct reviews.
• Prepare tenders, fees and technical proposals; contribute to bids.
• Develop client relationships and support new business opportunities.
• Mentor junior engineers and coach team members.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure project success.
