Job summary

Vp plc's Groundforce division seeks a Senior Engineer to lead complex structural and geotechnical design across Cat2/Cat3 schemes. This hands-on role combines technical delivery, mentoring juniors, and ensuring outputs meet industry standards.

You will manage design delivery, plan resources, and produce clear documentation while applying CDM and health and safety requirements. Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit, and a driving license, are essential.

Qualifications

• Degree in civil and/or structural engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum of 3 years' post-graduate engineering experience.
• Strong understanding of CDM Regulations and health and safety in engineering environments.
• Proven ability to design and check structural and geotechnical schemes to a high standard.
• Confident managing workload independently and supervising others effectively.

Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver high-quality design solutions for complex (Cat3) and moderately complex (Cat2) schemes.
• Manage day-to-day engineering workload and support coordination across project teams.
• Design bespoke structural and geotechnical products or components.
• Ensure all designs comply with current regulations and industry best practices.
• Supervise, support, and mentor Graduate and Design Engineers.
• Apply and maintain safe working practices in line with CDM and health and safety requirements.
• Produce clear and accurate technical documentation and records.
• Take a proactive role in project planning, progress tracking, and resource management.
• Contribute to technical decision-making and improvements to design processes.
