Job summary

Groundforce is seeking a Senior Engineer to lead structural and geotechnical design across complex projects. You will mentor junior engineers, oversee design delivery, and ensure outputs meet industry standards in a hands‑on leadership role.

The role covers Cat2 and Cat3 schemes, requires a civil/structural degree and 3+ years post‑graduate experience, and involves working to CDM and safety requirements while coordinating across project teams.

Qualifications

• : Minimum of 3 years' post‑graduate engineering experience.
• : Degree in civil/structural engineering or equivalent (BEng, MEng, BSc, MSc).
• : Strong understanding of CDM Regulations and health and safety in engineering environments.
• : Proven ability to design and check structural and geotechnical schemes to a high standard.
• : Confident managing workload independently and supervising others effectively.
• : Strong documentation and record‑keeping skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver high‑quality design solutions for Cat2/ Cat3 schemes.
• Manage day‑to‑day engineering workload and support coordination across project teams.
• Design bespoke structural and geotechnical products or components.
• Ensure all designs comply with current regulations and industry best practices.
• Supervise, support, and mentor Graduate and Design Engineers.
• Collaborate with technical teams to assist with workload as required.
• Apply and maintain safe working practices in line with CDM and health and safety requirements.
• Produce clear and accurate technical documentation and records.
• Contribute to project planning, progress tracking, and resource management.
• Drive improvements to design processes and technical decision‑making.
• Engage in project work to ensure timely, quality delivery.
