Job summary

Strata Consulting in Essex is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join a long-established practice near Southend-on-Sea. You will lead design work from concept through to delivery on a diverse mix of residential, commercial, and industrial projects.

You will work independently, mentor junior engineers, and ensure compliance with UK building regulations, with chartered status preferred but not essential. Flexible working and a supportive team culture offer opportunities to shape your career.

Qualifications

• Strong background in structural design and analysis across various building types and materials.
• Ability to manage projects independently from design through delivery.
• Good knowledge of UK building regulations and relevant codes of practice.
• Proficiency with structural design software (Tekla, Tedds, Robot, MasterSeries).
• Excellent client-facing skills with clear technical communication.
• Confidence in mentoring junior team members and contributing to a positive team culture.
• Proactive, solution-focused approach to engineering challenges.
• Chartered with IStructE or ICE is preferred though not essential.
• MEng or BEng in Civil Engineering (or equivalent).
