Job summary

Penguin Recruitment is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer for a friendly East Midlands consultancy. You will lead projects from concept to completion, designing structural solutions with masonry, steel and timber, and carrying out site surveys and reports.

Qualifications

• Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering and UK eligibility.
• Several years' experience in a UK-based structural engineering consultancy.
• Experience with residential extensions and structural alterations.
• Knowledge of UK building regs and design standards.
• Strong communication with clients and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a variety of structural engineering projects from concept through to completion.
• Design structural solutions using masonry, steel, and timber.
• Deliver designs for residential and domestic projects, including extensions and alterations.
• Carry out structural inspections and site surveys.
• Prepare clear structural reports and technical assessments for clients, architects, and contractors.
• Work closely with homeowners, architects, and builders to develop practical, cost‑effective solutions.
• Provide technical guidance to junior engineers where required.
