Job summary

Steve Ball Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer for a well-established consultancy. You will lead structural design activities, mentor junior engineers, manage project delivery and maintain strong client relationships across industrial, infrastructure, energy, residential, and education sectors.

You will produce calculations, drawings and reports, ensure compliance with UK standards and Eurocodes, undertake site visits, and contribute to business development while supporting

Qualifications

• A Degree (BEng/MEng) in Structural Engineering.
• Chartered Engineer status or actively progressing toward chartership.
• 7+ years post-graduate structural design experience.
• Strong knowledge of UK design standards and Eurocodes.
• Experience delivering projects across industrial, infrastructure, energy, residential, education, healthcare sectors.

Responsibilities

• Lead the structural design and analysis of projects across multiple sectors.
• Produce and review calculations, specifications, technical reports, and detailed drawings.
• Ensure designs comply with UK standards, Eurocodes, and client requirements.
• Undertake independent checking and approval of calculations.
• Manage project deliverables, programmes, and resources.
• Provide technical leadership and mentor graduate and junior engineers.
• Liaise with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure delivery.
• Attend site visits, surveys, inspections, and meetings as required.
• Support business development and company growth.

POSITION : Senior Structural Engineer

LOCATION : Commutable from Doncaster , Selby , Grimsby , Lincoln , Beverley , Hull , Driffield, Scunthorpe, York

THE ROLE : This is a great opportunity for an experienced Structural Engineer to join an established and well respected consultancy. RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead the structural design and analysis of projects across a variety of sectors.
• Produce and review engineering calculations, specifications, technical reports, and detailed design drawings.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant UK Standards, Eurocodes, client requirements, and industry best practices.
• Undertake independent checking and approval of calculations and design work completed by other engineers.
• Manage project deliverables, programmes, and resources.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to graduate and junior engineers.
• Liaise directly with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
• Attend site visits, surveys, inspections, and meetings as required.
• Support business development activities and contribute to the continued growth of the company.

YOU MUST HAVE THE FOLLOWING :

• A Degree (BEng/MEng) in Structural Engineering.
• A minimum of 7 years' post-graduate structural design experience.
• Chartered Engineer status (CEng) or be working towards chartership.
• Proven experience delivering structural engineering projects within industrial, infrastructure, energy, Residential, Education, Healthcare, or related sectors.
• Strong knowledge of UK design standards, Eurocodes, and relevant industry regulations.
• Experience using structural analysis and design software.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to build strong client relationships.
• The ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• A proactive approach with strong problem-solving and leadership capabilities.
