Job description

We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Structural Engineer to join our highly regarded, award-winning Civil & Structural team within our Hydrock Cardiff office.

We offer a people-focused culture, engaging projects, and a clear progression structure. As part of our national Civil and Structural team (250+ employees), you will collaborate with divisions such as MEP, Nuclear, and Smart Energy & Sustainability.

Key responsibilities include:

1. Delivery of scheme and concept designs.
2. Preparation of detailed design, tender, and construction packages.
3. Preparation of calculation packages for Building Control submissions.
4. Participation in client, design, and site meetings.
5. Management and development of engineers and technicians.
6. Liaison with statutory authorities, architects, the design team, and contractors.
7. Preparation of fee proposals and input into project bids and ITTs.

Ideal candidate attributes:

1. MEng or BEng in civil or structural engineering.
2. Chartered or working towards Chartership with IStructE or ICE.
3. Self-motivated team player with strong communication and technical skills.
4. Experience with analysis and design software.
5. Ability to perform hand calculations.
6. Understanding of BIM Level 2 requirements.
7. Developing marketing and business development skills.
8. Ambitious with a commitment to our values and success.
