Job description

As a Senior Engineer in our team, you will support delivery of our global portfolio of projects through various levels of development (conceptual, FEED, and detailed design projects) for major offshore wind turbine generator assets, along with developing innovative solutions for repair and upgrades.

You’ll design and analyze both fixed and floating structures for the growing offshore renewables sector, actively helping to reduce the effects of climate change.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and analyze offshore structures, including fixed and floating foundations for offshore wind turbines and substations, considering site-specific hydrodynamic loads and environmental conditions.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver structural engineering projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards (API, DNV, NORSOK, etc.) and certification requirements.
• Assess, review, and interpret technical inputs required for offshore structural design.
• Prepare technical reports and supervise the drafting of manufacturing drawings for created designs.
• Ensure all design work is performed, reviewed, checked, and approved according to engineering procedures and project quality plans.

Experience, Education, and Other Requirements:

• Relevant offshore industry experience, focusing on Primary or Secondary Steel design, preferably for offshore wind turbine foundations.
• Master’s degree in Offshore Structures, Ocean Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related discipline, with excellent understanding of Structural Mechanics and Hydrodynamics.
• Chartered Engineer or working towards chartership.
• Proficiency in SESAM or SACS software is ideal; experience with comparable software is also acceptable.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to adapt to diverse work environments.
• Knowledge of programming and scripting (Python or VBA) is an advantage but not mandatory.
• A 'can-do' attitude, willingness to learn, and persuasive presentation skills.

Additional Information:

This role may require security clearance, which depends on obtaining the relevant level. The vetting process is managed by UKSV and may require proof of UK residency for 5+ years. Please do not mention or include current or past security clearances in your application.
