A structural engineer with knowledge of the assessment, diagnosis and repair of structures is required by a major insurance loss adjuster. This is an opportunity to gain sought after experience in the buoyant and consistent insurance loss adjusting sector at a senior level. It is home based with occasional site visits approximately two days a week. It provides training and career development prospects. The company has finely tuned delivery processes and IT infrastructure in place and have supported home working for many years. You will benefit from an in-house training and induction period.
The role: You will work alongside team of twelve surveyors and engineers in London and the Northern Home counties. They are primarily focused on residential and commercial subsidence work from initial enquiry through to the completion of mitigation and supervision of repair work. Using your structural engineering and management experience you will provide advice on technical issues and ensure quality and delivery markers are met. Occasional site visits will be required, and there will be regular video meetings with insurers, your team, property owners and insurers. You will assist in mentoring and motivating staff and recruitment.
Your profile: A chartered MICE or MIStructE engineer with a background in structural or civil consulting engineering or building repair contracting. Knowledge of structural design, assessment, mitigation and project delivery. Highly organised with the ability to programme work and deal with a range of stakeholders. Good interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
