Optimus Plus in Aberdeen or Glasgow is seeking a Senior Structural Designer for a full-time, on-going contract. The role focuses on offshore oil and gas projects, with design work from concept to detailed design and collaboration across disciplines.

You will support safe, cost-effective solutions, travel to onshore and offshore sites, and contribute to both new and existing projects within a dynamic team.

Qualifications

• HND in a relevant subject and experience in detailed design.
• Knowledge of offshore oil and gas environments is desirable.
• Willingness to travel to onshore and offshore sites.
• Relevant certifications to travel offshore may be required.

Responsibilities

• Creates and checks engineering designs.
• Ensures designs meet project requirements.
• Input to project plans.
• Identify areas of concern during any project or study.
• Produce cost-effective engineering solutions that are fit for purpose, safe and add value.
• Address operational and maintenance issues in the design and liaise with colleagues for the best solution.

About The Role

Optimus Plus are now looking for an experienced Senior Structural Designer to join our team in Aberdeen or Glasgow on a full-time, on-going contract basis.

We are seeking candidates with significant experience in the offshore oil and gas energy sector, ideally with knowledge of the North sea assets and brownfield oil and gas projects. Previous experience of concept and detailed design is essential.

About You

We’d like you to have a HND in a relevant subject and previous experience in detail design with an awareness of other disciplines. You need to be competent and have an interest in working with AutoDesk design products. There will be the opportunity to work in other locations, both on and offshore so candidates may need you to travel and hold the relevant certification to do so.
