Unknown Company, a well-established engineering consultancy in the UK, seeks a Senior Structural Design Engineer to join its team near Glasgow. You will lead projects from concept to completion, mentoring graduates and managing client relationships.

The role involves designing concrete, steel, masonry and timber structures to Eurocodes/BS, with flexible/hybrid working options and opportunities for progression.

Qualifications

• Degree in Structural Engineering required.
• Minimum 5 years' post-grad experience in a consultancy focused on building structures.
• Working towards or holding chartered status is expected.

Responsibilities

• Develop structural scheme designs and detailed solutions for building projects (commercial, residential, mixed-use).
• Carry out design and analysis of structural elements and frames to Eurocodes/BS standards.
• Liaise with architects, contractors and clients to agree safe, buildable and cost-effective solutions.
• Attend site meetings and inspections; support construction-phase queries and problem-solving.
• Apply a pragmatic approach considering site constraints, buildability, programme and sustainability.
