Job summary

Contract Scotland is seeking a Senior Structural Design Engineer to join our west Scotland team. You will lead structural design from concept to completion, liaise with architects, contractors and clients, and provide mentorship to graduates in a flexible/hybrid working environment.

The role focuses on building structures across commercial, residential and mixed-use sectors, requiring a degree in structural engineering, 5+ years post-grad experience, and chartered status or progression toward it.

Qualifications

• Degree in Structural Engineering (or equivalent)
• Minimum 5 years’ post-grad experience in a consultancy environment (building structures)
• Working towards or holding chartered status (IEng/CEng) advantageous

Responsibilities

• Develop structural scheme designs and detailed solutions for building projects (commercial, residential, mixed-use)
• Lead on client relationships and stakeholder engagement from concept through to completion
• Attend site meetings and inspections; support construction-phase queries and problem-solving
