Job summary

Alexander Associates Limited is seeking a Senior Structural BIM Technician to own BIM delivery across diverse structural projects. You will lead model production, coordination, and quality assurance while mentoring junior team members and driving digital design excellence.

The role offers opportunities to shape BIM standards, workflows, and digital processes, with progression toward Principal or Lead BIM Technician roles.

Qualifications

• Experience as Structural BIM/Structural Technician in engineering consultancy
• Advanced skills in Revit; working knowledge of AutoCAD
• Understanding of BIM coordination and information management
• Knowledge of structural detailing for steel, concrete, masonry, timber
• Strong communication, organisation and mentoring abilities
• Relevant Civil/Structural Eng or Construction qualification (HNC/HND or equivalent)

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain high-quality structural BIM models using Revit from concept to construction
• Produce coordinated drawings, sections, and details reflecting design intent
• Collaborate with engineers and multidisciplinary teams for seamless model integration
• Review and check models for accuracy, buildability, and standards compliance
• Lead clash detection and resolve coordination issues proactively
• Support BIM Execution Plans, modelling standards, and digital workflows
• Mentor junior technicians and promote consistent BIM practices
• Contribute to BIM standards, digital strategy, and technical processes
