Job summary

Alexander Associates is seeking a Senior Structural BIM Technician to take ownership of BIM delivery across diverse structural projects in Welwyn Hatfield. You will lead model production, coordination, and QA while mentoring junior team members to promote best BIM practices.

Responsibilities include developing high-quality Revit models, producing coordinated drawings, reviewing models for buildability, and supporting BIM standards and digital workflows to improve project delivery.

Qualifications

• Experience as Structural BIM Technician in an engineering consultancy.
• Advanced proficiency in Autodesk Revit and working knowledge of AutoCAD.
• Strong understanding of BIM coordination, information management, and digital project delivery.
• Excellent grasp of structural detailing across steel, concrete, masonry, and timber.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain high-quality structural BIM models using Revit from concept to construction.
• Produce coordinated drawings, sections, and details that reflect design intent.
• Collaborate with engineers and multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless model integration.
• Review and check models for accuracy, buildability, and compliance with project standards.
• Lead clash detection and resolve coordination issues proactively.
• Support BIM Execution Plans, modelling standards, and digital workflows.
• Mentor junior technicians and promote consistent BIM practices.
• Contribute to the evolution of BIM standards, digital strategy, and technical processes.
