Job summary
QinetiQ Limited in Farnborough is seeking an Engineer - Structural Analysis to support its Structural Analysis and Optimisation capability. You will work on finite element analyses of complex assemblies and contribute to novel simulation methods for safety cases and high-value testing.
The role requires Chartered Engineer status or progression towards it, with experience in ABAQUS and strong analytical skills.
Qualifications
- Chartered Engineer status or working towards this requirement.
- Experience in finite element analysis using ABAQUS.
- Ability to write quality technical reports and presentations.
- Knowledge of adjacent disciplines such as design and materials is preferred.
- Experience in aerospace/space or weapons domains is advantageous.
Responsibilities
- Structural analysis of large, complex assemblies for major military products.
- Stress analysis of aircraft modifications and test installations.
- Assess collisions between drones and crewed aircraft using validated methods.
- Develop and validate methods to evaluate directed energy weapons effects.
- Support novel technologies for future UK aircraft.
- De-risk large composite structures for maritime programmes.
