Job summary

West Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust is inviting applications for a Band 6 Sister/Charge Nurse to join our Stroke Unit in Bury St Edmunds. The 30-bed unit provides comprehensive care for patients admitted from the Emergency Department to our Hyper-acute Stroke Bay, guiding rehabilitation from acute care to discharge.

You will support the Ward Manager by leading the ward team, role modelling clinical excellence, promoting staff development, and creating a learning environment for staff and students.

Responsibilities

• Act as a role model with clinical expertise, leading and delivering individual patient care.
• Promote staff development relevant to the practice area and individual needs.
• Facilitate a learning environment for staff and students allocated to the area.
• Deputise in the absence of the Ward Manager, managing staff and physical resources effectively.
