Job summary

Airbus Belfast Limited is seeking a Senior Project Engineer (Stress) to lead structural stress analysis for metallic and composite airframes. You will direct core and subcontract stress engineers, oversee design development, and coordinate certification activities with customers and authorities.

The role demands strong leadership, experience in FEM and classical methods, and a track record of delivering on time within aerospace programs. Belfast-based with occasional travel within the UK.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level engineering degree with 3+ years’ stress engineering experience and project responsibilities.
• Delegation for stress approvals of drawings/certification reports.
• Experience with stress analysis for primary airframe structure in metallic and composite materials.
• Ability to work independently and meet global milestones.

Responsibilities

• Direct stress analysis activities for design development and certification.
• Lead cross-functional reviews to ensure certification compliance.
• Oversee stress modelling, testing planning and result assessment.
• Coordinate with customers and certification authorities as required.
• Manage project scope, timing and budget for structural stress work.
• Review and approve drawings and certification reports.
