Job summary

Slingsby Advanced Composites Ltd in North Yorkshire is seeking a Senior Stress Engineer to lead the mechanical analysis of advanced composite structures. You will work on static, dynamic, fatigue and damage tolerance analyses, modelling loading conditions and supporting manufacturing requirements.

You will coach engineers, interact with customers and suppliers, and deliver technical reports and presentations.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering preferred; strong background in fibre-reinforced composites welcome.
• Experience in static, dynamic, fatigue and damage tolerance analysis.
• Experience with Nastran/Patran/Apex/Dytran is expected.

Responsibilities

• Provide stress analysis for composite structures with design for manufacture in mind.
• Lead programmes to satisfy customer expectations.
• Coach and mentor junior engineers.
• Prepare technical reports and presentations of analysis results.
• Identify opportunities for improvement and drive to conclusion.
