Job summary

We are partnering with a leading supported housing organisation in Exeter seeking a Strategic Asset Appraisal Manager on a permanent basis. The role focuses on strategic asset appraisal, investment and asset performance across portfolios, delivering robust business cases and option appraisals.

You will lead and develop the asset appraisal function, collaborate with Development, Regeneration and Housing Management teams, and drive continuous improvement through data-driven analysis and automation

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in social housing asset management or related fields.
• Proven track record of leading teams and managing organisational change.
• Experience undertaking asset appraisals, options appraisals, and business case development for investment, regeneration, or disposal projects.
• Strong analytical skills with experience interpreting stock condition, financial, valuation, and performance data to support strategic decision-making.
• Demonstrable experience improving processes through data-driven approaches, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Lead the strategic appraisal of properties, estates and land assets to inform investment decisions.
• Develop robust business cases and option appraisals for investment and redevelopment.
• Collaborate with Development, Regeneration and Housing Management to support long-term strategies.
• Review property performance against financial, operational and social value objectives.
• Drive continuous improvement in asset appraisal processes using data and automation.
• Build relationships with local authorities, partners and stakeholders to deliver housing outcomes.
• Provide leadership to the asset appraisal function and ensure high standards.
• Support decant, void and redevelopment programmes to maximise asset value.
