Job summary

Indra Group UK & Ireland is seeking a highly experienced Senior Storage and Backup Engineer to join its Back Office IT team on a large-scale TfL contract. The role focuses on transition, operation, and data protection services across enterprise storage and backup environments in a complex, high-availability setting.

Key duties include knowledge transfer, SOP development, DR design, capacity planning and 24x7 incident resolution, ensuring security and ITIL-aligned processes.

Qualifications

• Experience in enterprise storage and backup environments.
• Knowledge of Veritas NetBackup, Dell EMC storage and VMware.
• Experience in large-scale, high-availability IT environments.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Familiarity with ITIL service management practices.

Responsibilities

• Participate in Mobilisation, Knowledge Transfer, Shadowing and Transition phases ensuring readiness to operate services.
• Assess operational knowledge maturity and identify gaps in documentation, processes and tooling.
• Support knowledge transfer activities with incumbent suppliers ensuring completeness and accuracy.
• Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and operational runbooks.
• Operate and support enterprise storage, backup and recovery platforms.
• Design and maintain backup, archive and disaster recovery solutions aligned with business continuity requirements.
• Monitor and optimise storage capacity, performance and availability.
• Provide third-line support, including incident resolution and root cause analysis within 24x7 operational environments.
• Ensure compliance with security, access control and ITIL-based processes.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure service resilience and continuous improvement.
