Job summary

ion-tec Ltd. in Leeds seeks an experienced Structural Engineer (Steel Structures) to design and analyse steel buildings, produce calculations, drawings and specs, and collaborate with design, fabrication and installation teams.

The role requires a degree in Civil/Structural Engineering and at least 5 years’ steel design experience, with proficiency in STAAD Pro and preferably Tekla Structures. A competitive package includes pension, healthcare and training opportunities.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering is required.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in structural steel design.
• Proficiency in STAAD Pro Structural Software.
• Experience with Tekla Structures is desirable.
• Strong knowledge of structural analysis and hand calculations.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and analyse steel structures, steel elements and connections.
• Produce and review detailed engineering calculations (including hand calculations).
• Conduct site visits to assess existing structures and gather data.
• Collaborate with design, fabrication and installation teams to ensure project success.
• Prepare technical structural reports, drawings and specifications.
• Ensure designs comply with Eurocodes, standards and regulations.
• Provide technical support during fabrication and site installation phases.
