Job summary

Medidata Solutions, Inc. is seeking a Senior Staff Test Engineer in the UK to lead automation engineering and architect scalable Python-based test frameworks. You will drive AI-assisted testing and integrate CI/CD pipelines to accelerate software releases.

You will mentor a team of automation engineers, collaborate with product and release teams, and establish best practices for quality across multiple streams. Hybrid office policy applies.

Qualifications

• Python development with strong OOP
• Ability to architect and maintain scalable test automation frameworks from scratch
• CI/CD concepts and hands-on experience with GitHub Actions or similar
• Experience building or working with AI/LLM agents in testing
• Knowledge of software testing methodologies
• API test automation using REST/GraphQL (Pytest/Requests)
• Experience leading and growing a team of automation engineers
• Ability to own automation projects end-to-end
• Stakeholder collaboration across engineering, product and release management
• Version control workflows (Git) and PR reviews
• Strong communication and documentation skills
• Agile/Scrum practices and test management tools such as Jira/Zephyr Scale

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of automation engineers, setting technical direction and ensuring quality
• Architect and own scalable Python-based test automation frameworks
• Drive CI/CD integration for automated test execution
• Develop custom AI agents to enhance testing workflows
• Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure on-time, quality releases
• Own automation projects end-to-end from design to reporting
• Define automation best practices, coding standards and test coverage
• Integrate automated tests into deployment workflows for continuous feedback
• Embed quality early in the development lifecycle
