Job Description:

At Ouster, we build sensors and tools for engineers, roboticists, and researchers, enabling safer and more efficient solutions. We have transformed LIDAR technology into compact, high-resolution sensors used in autonomous vehicles, drones, and more. We are hiring key roles to support our growth.

We are seeking a Digital IC Design Engineer to develop next-generation LiDAR systems. The ideal candidate will have experience in digital circuit specification, design, and verification for ASIC / Mixed-Signal SoCs, or FPGA design with an interest in moving into ASIC development. This role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic, start-up style environment and contribute to innovative imaging systems at our Edinburgh Design Centre.

Responsibilities:

• Define digital SOC architecture and blocks
• Write specifications
• Collaborate with analog IC designers and subcontractors
• Design synthesis, timing closure, and STA experience preferred
• Debug RTL/gate level simulations and failures
• Work with firmware, hardware, software, and analog IC teams
• Prepare reports, proposals, and presentations
• Prototype with FPGA (desirable)
• Experience with P&R and MATLAB modeling (bonus)

Qualifications:

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
• 8-10+ years of relevant digital design experience
• Knowledge of full IC design flow
• Experience in automotive electronics is a plus
