Job summary
The Jim Shahi unit is a day case unit for cardiology interventional procedures, providing a 24/7 Primary Percutaneous Coronary Intervention service. Royal Berkshire has been a top performer in call-to-balloon and door-to-balloon times.
The unit has two bays, each with space for 8 patients.
The unit performs the following procedures:
Our department is committed to high standards of patient care. We are seeking experienced Cath Lab Nurses to join our team.
The nursing team rotates between two catheter labs and recovery areas. We also care for patients requiring day case frusemide infusions and IV fluids before CT scans.
Within the last year, we have operated a Cardiac Ambulatory Day Case unit on certain days for urgent cardiology reviews.
As a Senior Staff Nurse, you will coordinate the unit daily. We look forward to new staff joining our experienced team.
You will be expected to fulfill on-call requirements for the Cath Lab.
The Jim Shahi Unit is a friendly, patient- and staff-centered facility. We offer great learning opportunities and prioritize education. We collaborate closely with the entire cardiology department, including the Cardiac Care Unit, Whitley Ward, and others.
