Band 6 Senior Staff Nurse (adult or paediatric registrant). We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic nurse to join our teenage cancer unit, caring for young people aged 13-19 years old.
You must be an experienced band 5 or band 6 nurse (paediatric or adult) with haematology/oncology experience. You will have the opportunity to share and develop knowledge and skills in caring for a range of solid tumours and haematology cancers. You will care for patients undergoing treatments including bone marrow transplant, chemotherapy, and radiotherapy.
You will be required to demonstrate experience and skills in this area, along with leadership, development, and organisation skills to coordinate the safe and efficient delivery of care to this patient group.
Our unit is committed to caring for young people during a difficult time in their lives; we work closely with the Teenage Cancer Trust to ensure we treat the young person, not just the cancer. The unit has dedicated nurses who aim to create a pleasant environment.
