Job summary

Priory Hospital Burgess Hill is seeking a Staff Nurse to provide safe, person-centred care and to work closely with patients, families and the multidisciplinary team. You will contribute to governance, safeguarding, medicines management and adherence to the NMC Code.

Roles include supervising and mentoring colleagues, coordinating shifts, and leading activities on the ward as required. DBS checks are required; Priory will cover the check.

Job description

As a Staff Nurse, you will deliver safe, person-centred care, working collaboratively with patients, families and the multidisciplinary team to assess, plan and review treatment. You will maintain accurate records, monitor patient wellbeing, escalation concerns, and support clinical governance, quality improvement and compliance with safeguarding, relevant legislation, medicines management policies and the NMC Code. Responsibilities include coordinating shifts, acting as nurse in charge, supervising and mentoring colleagues and student nurses, and undertaking ward leadership, bed management or site coordination duties as required. You will promote a safe environment, manage challenging behaviours appropriately, participate in clinical supervision and reflective practice, and maintain mandatory training, competencies and ongoing professional development.

Priory Hospital Burgess Hill, Goddards Green, West Sussex is an acute and psychiatric intensive care unit (PICU) service for adult males. The hospital is close to the A23, providing road access to Brighton, Gatwick and the M25. Due to the rural location of the service, access to a vehicle or the ability to drive is recommended.

All roles are subject to a successful disclosure at an appropriate level from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS), Access NI or Disclosure Scotland. Priory will cover the cost of a DBS check.
