The Hospital Of St John & St Elizabeth is seeking an experienced Band 6 Registered Nurse to join St Elizabeth Ward, a 16-bed surgical unit in London. You will play a senior clinical and leadership role, delivering high-quality, safe, evidence-based care across orthopaedic and other specialties.

We are looking for an experienced and compassionate Band 6 Registered Nurse to join our team on St Elizabeth Ward, a 16-bed surgical ward providing care for both day case and surgical inpatients.

The ward cares for patients undergoing orthopaedic surgery as well as those requiring care across a range of specialties, including Breast, Gynaecology, Ophthalmology, ENT, General Plastic and Cosmetic Surgery, Orthopaedic and Spinal, Urology.

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated nurse who is passionate about delivering high-quality, safe and evidence-based patient care and who is ready to take on a senior clinical and leadership role.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Band 6 Registered Nurse, you will:

• To be responsible for the assessment of care needs and the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care with the multidisciplinary team and patients’ families
• To promote a progressive attitude to the continual improvement of patient care through research and evidence based practice
• To undertake delegated responsibility for the department in the absence of the Ward Manager, including supervision of more junior staff
• To apply advanced clinical skills to assist in performing safe effective care for patients

What we're looking for

We are seeking a Registered Nurse with current NMC registration who has relevant clinical experience and the confidence to work as part of a senior nursing team.

You will ideally have:

• Extensive experience at Band 6 already
• Demonstrable practice that is evidence based and up to date
• Experience of working with teams, motivating and empowering them to deliver excellent standards of patient care
• Experience of identifying and dealing with risks encountered within own practice.
• Experience of supporting junior / less experienced staff to improve standards of patient care.
• Able to supports less experienced / junior staff to respond to feedback in positive manner setting objectives as required.
