Job summary

Anthropic is seeking a principal Node Infra engineer to own the lifecycle of accelerator capacity across clouds, building scalable, reliable infrastructure for a large AI compute fleet powering frontier research. You will partner with research, inference, and product teams to shape long-term compute and data strategy.

You will mentor engineers, drive operational excellence, and contribute to a culture of reliability and collaboration across Anthropic’s offices and remote teams.

Qualifications

• Deep expertise in distributed systems and reliability.
• Strong proficiency in at least one systems language (Rust/Go/Python).
• Hands-on experience with ML accelerators (GPUs/TPUs/Trainium).
• Track record of leading complex, multi-quarter initiatives across teams.
• Ability to align senior stakeholders and communicate clearly.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical strategy and roadmap for node lifecycle management.
• Drive cross-team initiatives to scale AI clusters across clouds and accelerators.
• Design and operate systems to detect, isolate, and remediate unhealthy hardware automatically.
• Define infrastructure architecture to solve hard problems and guide others.
• Collaborate with cloud providers and internal teams to shape long-term compute strategy.
• Establish and evolve incident response and on-call practices.
• Mentor and coach engineers in the org.
