Job summary

Anthropic Limited is seeking a senior infrastructure engineer to own the node lifecycle management for our AI compute fleet. You will shape the strategy for ingestion, bring-up, health checks, and automated repair, while driving cross-team initiatives across clouds and accelerator families.

You will design architectures, collaborate with cloud providers and research/product teams, and lead reliability practices to ensure high availability and efficient operations of our AI infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Strong expertise in distributed systems and reliability.
• Proficiency with cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure) and Kubernetes.
• Experience with systems programming languages such as Go or Python.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical strategy and roadmap for node lifecycle management – ingestion, bring-up, health checking, and automated repair.
• Drive cross-team initiatives to build and scale AI clusters across multiple clouds and accelerator families.
• Design and operate systems to detect, isolate, and remediate unhealthy hardware automatically, improving fleet MTBI and reducing stranded capacity.
• Define infrastructure architecture and ensure hard problems are solved, directly or through others.
• Collaborate with cloud providers and research/product teams to shape long-term compute, data, and infrastructure strategy.
• Establish and evolve operational excellence practices (incident response, postmortem culture, on-call).
• Mentor and coach engineers to grow technical capabilities.
