Job summary

Anthropic is seeking a Staff Software Engineer for the Infrastructure team. You will scope and lead multi-month infrastructure projects, design robust scalable systems, and partner with research and product teams to meet evolving needs.

Qualifications

Experience designing, building, and operating large-scale distributed systems or infrastructure in production.
Proven ability to scope and deliver complex, ambiguous, multi-month projects.
Experience making architectural decisions that other engineers rely on.
Strong software engineering fundamentals; proficient in at least one language (e.g., Python, Rust, Go, Java).
Experience with modern cloud infrastructure (Kubernetes, IaC) on AWS and/or GCP.
Excellent written and verbal communication; able to align across teams.

Responsibilities

Independently scope and lead complex, multi-month infrastructure projects from conception to production.
Make architectural decisions that shape the foundation for other engineers and teams.
Drive alignment on technical direction across teams amid ambiguity.
