Job summary

London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) is evolving its Site Reliability Engineering to strengthen reliability, observability, security, and operational excellence across Markets and Risk Intelligence. As a Technical Lead SRE, you will be a senior hands-on leader shaping the foundations of reliability across both new and existing platforms.

You will collaborate with Architecture, Engineering, Security, and Platform teams to ensure reliability is built into systems from day one.

Qualifications

• 10+ years hands-on SRE/Platform Engineering or related roles.
• Strong AWS experience: EKS, ECS, EC2, networking, IAM.
• Kubernetes and containerised platforms expertise.
• Linux system administration proficiency.
• Experience designing/operating observability platforms (monitoring/logging/alerting).
• Hands-on Datadog for metrics, logs, APM, alerts.
• Solid understanding of SRE principles: SLOs, incident management.
• Experience collaborating with architecture and engineering teams on design/delivery.
• Knowledge of cloud security principles and collaboration with security teams.
• Cloud cost optimisation strategies and tooling; AI integration with observability stacks.

Responsibilities

• Lead the establishment of SRE foundations for new projects with environments, monitoring, alerting, and readiness.
• Embed reliability, scalability, security, and observability into system design with Architecture/Engineering teams.
• Define, implement, and champion observability standards and SLIs/SLOs across metrics/logs/traces.
• Design and evolve monitoring and alerting to improve visibility and reduce toil.
• Drive reliability improvements via incident reduction, performance tuning, and resilient patterns.
• Partner with Security to meet compliance, security, and risk-management expectations.
• Lead handovers from project delivery into BAU SRE operations with documentation and readiness.
• Influence architectural decisions through data-driven cloud cost optimization.
• Mentor engineers and foster learning and development in reliability practices.
