Job summary

The London Stock Exchange is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to strengthen reliability across Risk Intelligence platforms. You will lead SRE foundations for new projects, define observability standards, and mentor engineers to ensure robust, secure, and scalable systems from day one.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in CS/Engineering or related field.
• Experience with cloud cost optimization strategies and tooling.
• Hands-on Datadog for metrics, logs, APM, and alerting.
• Strong AWS (or Azure) experience including EKS, ECS, EC2, IAM.
• Solid knowledge of SRE principles: SLOs, incident management, reliability.
• Design and operation of observability platforms (monitoring, logging, alerting).
• Cloud security principles and collaboration with security teams.
• 5+ years in SRE, Platform Engineering, or related roles.
• LX experience with Linux system administration.
• Ability to influence architecture and operational decisions.
• Calm under pressure during incidents; clear communicator.
• Collaborative across architecture, engineering, security, and ops.
• Experience with IaC (Terraform/CloudFormation) and multi-cloud.
• Experience in large-scale, regulated environments.
• Knowledge of vector DBs and RAG for internal SRE tools.
• Familiar with Generative AI / LLM platforms.

Responsibilities

• Lead the establishment of SRE foundations for new projects with monitoring and readiness from day one.
• Define and champion observability standards, tooling, and guidelines across metrics, logs, traces, and SLOs.
• Design and evolve monitoring and alerting solutions to improve visibility and reduce toil.
• Drive reliability improvements through incident reduction and performance tuning.
• Partner with Security teams to meet compliance, security, and risk-management expectations.
• Influence architectural and design decisions via data-driven cost optimization.
• Mentor engineers, shape engineering standards, and foster learning and development.
