Job summary

Head Resourcing Ltd is seeking a Senior SQL Server Developer for an engagement in Glasgow. You will work on SQL Server development using T-SQL, build and optimize data warehouses, and perform performance tuning.

Experience in Financial Services or Wealth Management environments is highly desirable. The role is Inside IR35 and requires umbrella company engagement; occasional travel to London may be required.

Job description

Senior SQL Server Developer needed for our Consultancy client for an engagement in Glasgow. The right candidate must have extensive demonstrable experience in SQL Server Development utilising T-SQL, a track record of building and working with data warehouses and strong SQL performance tuning expertise. Previous experience working within Financial Services, Wealth Management or Asset Management environments would be highly desirable.

The role is Inside IR35 and candidate will need to engage via an FCSA accredited Umbrella company. The role also requires candidates to work 2-days per week in the centre of Glasgow (though they will consider candidates who can work in the London office instead).

Key Skills:

• Significant hands-on experience as a SQL Server Developer in enterprise environments
• Strong expertise in T-SQL development
• Proven experience in SQL performance tuning & trouble shooting (indexes, execution plans, waits, IO, memory)
• Strong experience building and working with data warehouses/data platforms
• Experience with data quality, testing and production support
• Good understanding of data security/controls, ideally from a regulated environment
• Able to work independently and engage confidently with technical and business stakeholders

Desirable Skills

• Git/GitLab, CI/CD and scripting experience
