Job summary

Pearson Carter is seeking a SQL Server Database Developer for a role based in Dartford, Kent, offering hybrid working with in-office presence a few days per week.

You will develop and maintain SQL Server databases, optimize performance, design relational structures, and support upgrades and integrations; salary up to £55,000 with a profit-related bonus.

Candidates should have strong T-SQL skills and experience with on-prem environments using SSMS.

SQL Server Database Developer up to £55,000 Dartford, Hybrid

Pearson Carter are currently working with one of the UK's oldest and largest privately‑owned freight forwarding and logistics companies. They provide end‑to‑end logistics solutions across multiple transport modes - Air, Sea, Road, Rail, Warehousing & Logistics, Customs & Compliance.

They are looking for someone with strong hands‑on experience in core SQL Server database development, with a background focused on database development and not primarily on ETL, SSIS, or similar data integration tooling.

Responsibilities:

• Develop, maintain and optimise Microsoft SQL Server databases, stored procedures, views, functions and other database objects.
• Design and maintain relational database structures that support business applications and integrations.
• Investigate and resolve database, application and data-related issues in a production environment.
• Optimise database performance, reliability, and scalability using appropriate tuning and optimisation techniques.

Experience:

• Deep understanding of SQL Server, T‑SQL, SQL queries
• Experienced with relational database design, data modelling, and schema development experience
• Experienced developing within on‑prem Microsoft SQL Server environments using SQL Server Management Studio.
• Other useful experience; SQL Server Always On or other high‑availability SQL Server environments, SQL Server administration, Azure DevOps, any exposure to logistics or transport industries

Salary

They offer a salary of up to £55,000, plus a strong benefits package including a profit‑related bonus.

Location

This client is based in Dartford, Kent. They're offering hybrid working, looking for someone to be in office around 3x per week, but are open to some flexibility.
