Job summary

Davies Turner in Dartford, Kent, is seeking a SQL Server Database Developer to design, develop and implement SQL Server database solutions that underpin our business-critical applications. You will work closely with developers and stakeholders, shaping how data is captured, managed and utilised while helping lead a strategic system from the ground up.

You will work with on-premise SQL Server environments using T-SQL and SQL Server Management Studio, with no reliance on ETL tooling.

Qualifications

• Strong commercial experience developing Microsoft SQL Server databases in production environments.
• Excellent T-SQL skills, including writing, troubleshooting and optimising complex SQL queries, stored procedures, views and functions.
• Strong practical experience in relational database design, data modelling and schema development.
• Hands-on experience developing within on-premise Microsoft SQL Server environments using SQL Server Management Studio.
• Proven experience analysing and resolving database performance, data quality and application-related issues.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and optimise Microsoft SQL Server databases, stored procedures, views, functions and other database objects.
• Design and maintain relational database structures that support business applications and integrations.
• Investigate and resolve database, application and data-related issues in production environments.
• Optimise database performance, reliability and scalability using appropriate tuning techniques.
• Work closely with developers and stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver practical technical solutions.
• Support database changes through development, testing and production release processes.
• Contribute to system upgrades, integrations and ongoing technology improvement initiatives.
• Produce technical documentation and share knowledge, standards and best practices.
