Job summary

Candour Solutions Limited is seeking an experienced Senior SQL Developer to own a critical SQL Server environment and drive the design, development, and optimisation of our database solutions.

You will influence technical direction, improve performance for business-critical systems, and mentor other developers within a collaborative technology team, while enhancing SQL capability across the business.

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience with Microsoft SQL Server development.
• Strong T-SQL skills and SQL Server 2019+.
• Experience designing relational databases and data models.
• Background working with high-volume transactional databases.
• Experience with ETL processes (SSIS or similar).
• Strong knowledge of SQL performance tuning and execution plans.
• Experience with SQL Server Agent, backups, disaster recovery, and security.
• Exposure to Azure SQL Database / Azure SQL Managed Instance is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and optimisation of SQL Server database solutions
• Develop and optimise complex T-SQL including stored procedures, functions, views, and triggers
• Troubleshoot database performance issues, including query optimisation, blocking, and deadlocks
• Support database security, backups, recovery, and high availability solutions
• Work with developers, analysts, and stakeholders to deliver effective technical solutions
• Provide technical guidance and mentor junior developers
