Job summary

University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust (UHNM) is inviting applications for two full-time Consultant Spinal Surgeons. The posts involve providing comprehensive spine surgical services across Royal Stoke University Hospital and County Hospital, with sessions at partner hospitals in a hub-and-spoke model.

Qualifications

• GMC registration on Specialist Register (via CCT/CESR) required.
• Fellowship training in spine surgery completed.
• Evidence of independent operating as a consultant or senior fellow.

Responsibilities

• See new patients and pre-operative assessments for consent and treatment.
• Review waiting lists and coordinate follow-up care with primary care or other departments.
• Provide leadership in primary and revision spinal surgery.
• Manage spinal emergencies and urgent non-elective cases including major trauma on-call.
• Attend MDTs, governance and RSN meetings; participate in teaching and research.
