Job summary

Elysium Healthcare is seeking a Senior Speech and Language Therapist to lead a complex caseload and deliver person-centred assessment and intervention within a multidisciplinary setting. You will take professional responsibility, perform detailed dysphagia assessments and advise on differential diagnosis and prognosis.

You will work with residents, families and carers, provide clear explanations of communication and swallowing difficulties, and contribute to care planning meetings.

Qualifications

• HCPC registration
• Experience of managing a caseload involving assessment and treatment of dysphagia
• Experience of working with families
• Evidence of continuing Professional Development

Responsibilities

• Manage a complex caseload of residents with communication and swallowing difficulties
• Carry out comprehensive assessments and support differential diagnosis and prognosis
• Lead communication-focused therapeutic groups and supervise therapy assistants
• Provide specialist SLT input to care planning and MDT decisions
• Support colleagues in delivering swallowing programmes including PEG feeding and liaise with nursing staff and dietitians
