Job summary

NHS Professionals operates a flexible staffing bank. A Speech & Language Therapist is sought to join the Northern General Hospital, Sheffield, working 37.5 hours a week on a bank basis.

You will assess, diagnose and manage patients with highly complex dysphagia, communication and critical care needs in acute environments. Advantageous requirements include HCPC registration and a Degree in Speech & Language Therapy, with extensive post-graduate experience with adults in acute settings and

Qualifications

• HCPC registration is required.
• Post-graduate experience with adults in acute care.
• Specialist dysphagia experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess, develop and implement highly specialist SLT treatment independently.
• Manage a highly complex caseload and prioritise appropriately.
• Assess and treat patients in high dependency and intensive care areas.
• Develop treatment regimes and evaluate outcomes.
• Maintain concise records and collect relevant data.
