Job overview
King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is a large teaching hospital with multiple sites, offering a range of specialist services. The Speech & Language Therapy department has over 40 staff providing inpatient and outpatient services across various specialties.
We seek a candidate for our Band 6 rotation program, which includes rotations in Neuro oncology, Health & Ageing, Neurosurgery, and Critical Care. Some rotations require participation in a 7-day rota.
The Denmark Hill Speech and Language Therapy team works closely with multidisciplinary teams across all King’s sites, led by the Head of Speech & Language Therapy and Clinical Leads. The service offers supervision, learning opportunities, and involvement in service development.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will provide specialist services to adults with communication and/or swallowing disorders, including tracheostomy management, across three clinical areas during each rotation. The current vacancy is within the Health & Ageing team, part of the Acute SLT service, which covers admitting wards, general medical and surgical wards, and health and ageing wards. The team is dynamic, busy, and experienced.
Our teams will help develop your clinical skills, including FEES, VF, and tracheostomy competencies, as appropriate.
